These terms govern the portable air conditioner rental provided by AC Rental Lisbon (acrentallisbon.pt) in Lisbon and Greater Lisbon. By confirming a booking via WhatsApp or the form, the customer accepts these Terms & Conditions.
1. Scope
AC Rental Lisbon rents portable air conditioning units (around 9000 BTU) with delivery and collection in Lisbon and Greater Lisbon, with no fixed installation and no building work. The equipment remains the property of AC Rental Lisbon throughout the rental.
2. Booking and confirmation
Bookings are made via WhatsApp (+351 935 328 206) or the website form. Availability, delivery date, duration and deposit are confirmed by WhatsApp before delivery. A booking is only guaranteed once confirmed by AC Rental Lisbon.
3. Prices and payment
- Rates: from €40/day, €210/week, €350/2 weeks or €450/month, depending on the agreed duration.
- Payment by MB WAY, bank transfer or cash, arranged before or on delivery.
- Prices may vary with delivery area, duration and availability. Invoice available on request.
4. Deposit
A refundable deposit of €100 is required, paid by MB WAY, transfer or cash before or on delivery. The deposit is returned at collection, provided the equipment and all accessories (unit, exhaust hose, remote, window kit/adapter and cable) are returned complete and in good working order. Costs for damage, loss or missing accessories are deducted from the deposit, or invoiced where they exceed it.
5. Correct use and customer responsibilities
During the rental period the equipment is in the customer's care and under the customer's responsibility. The customer agrees to:
- Use the unit according to the instructions provided and only for normal domestic cooling;
- Plug into a suitable, earthed power socket, without overloaded extension leads;
- Keep the exhaust hose venting outside (window/door) using the included kit;
- Not expose the unit to rain, not dismantle, repair or modify it, and not move it to another address without informing AC Rental Lisbon;
- Not leave the unit running unattended for long periods;
- Report any fault, abnormal noise, burning smell or spark immediately, unplugging the unit.
6. Breakdowns and replacement
If the unit fails through no fault of the customer, AC Rental Lisbon will replace it as quickly as possible (normally within 24 hours) or refund the unused proportion. This replacement (or pro-rata refund) is the maximum extent of AC Rental Lisbon's liability for a breakdown.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AC Rental Lisbon is not liable for indirect or consequential damages — including, without limitation, thermal discomfort, lost bookings or income, damage to property, furniture or other goods, or electricity consumption — arising from use, misuse, equipment failure, inadequate electrical installation of the premises, or force majeure. AC Rental Lisbon's total liability, whatever the cause, is limited to the amount paid for the rental in question. The equipment is supplied for use under the customer's responsibility.
8. Damage, loss or theft
The customer is responsible for damage beyond normal wear, and for loss or theft of the equipment during the rental. In such cases, the repair or replacement value is deducted from the deposit, or invoiced where it exceeds the deposit.
9. Electrical safety
The customer is responsible for ensuring the property's electrical installation is adequate and safe. AC Rental Lisbon is not liable for failures caused by faulty electrical installation, overloads or the use of unsuitable extension leads. In case of burning smell, smoke or sparking, unplug the unit immediately and contact us.
10. Return and collection
No lock-in. Collection is arranged by WhatsApp on the agreed date. The equipment must be returned complete, clean and in good condition, with all accessories, including the window kit (which is part of the rental and must be returned).
11. Data protection
The processing of the customer's personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the courts of Lisbon, without prejudice to consumer rights provided by law.
