AC Rental Lisbon was born from a simple problem: living in Lisbon in August, in an old flat in the historic centre, with a dog and three sleepless nights. The obvious question was: why is buying or installing air conditioning in Portugal so complicated? And why does no one simply offer to rent it?
Our starting point
Lisbon has changed over the last 10 years. The summers are longer, the heatwaves more intense, and the flats — especially the old ones in the historic centre — were not designed for 38°C temperatures. At the same time, most Lisboners live in rented homes, without the capital or permission to install fixed splits. In Alfama, Mouraria, Bairro Alto and Baixa, the city council even forbids installing exterior units on the façade.
The solution exists and it's simple: a portable air conditioner. But buying one costs €400–700, requires storage 10 months a year, and when it breaks down you have to sort everything out yourself. Renting solves this — but until recently, no one in Lisbon offered it with same-day home delivery.
What we do
We rent portable air conditioners in Lisbon and Greater Lisbon. We deliver the same day (if you confirm before 4pm), with the window kit included so you set it up yourself in ~5 min (no technician, no drilling), and collect it when you no longer need it. No permanent installation, no landlord approval, no lock-in contract.
The prices are transparent: €40/day, €210/week, €450/month. See all prices.
